Maharashtra Election: MNS Releases List Of 45 Candidates, Raj Thackeray's Son To Contest From Mahim

According to the MNS candidates list for the upcoming Maharashtra elections, Raj Thackeray's son Amit Thackeray will contest from Mahim assembly constituency in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Assembly Elections: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Tuesday released its second list of 45 candidates for the Maharashtra assembly elections. As per the list, Raj Thackeray's son Amit Thackeray will contest from Mahim assembly seat Mumbai. MNS spokesperson and former corporator Sandeep Deshpande will contest from Worli. 

Pramod (Raju) Ratan Patil has been fielded from Kalyan Rural, Shirish Gunwant Sawant from Bhandup West, Avinash Jadhav from Thane City, Sandeep Sudhakar Deshpande from Worli, Kunal Mainkar from Borivali, Sandesh Desai from Versova, and Mahesh Farkase from Kandivali East.

On Monday, Raj Thackeray-led MNS had announced the candidature of Avinash Jadhav and Raju Patil from Thane and Kalyan Rural constituencies, respectively, for the upcoming Maharashtra elections.

The names were declared by Thackeray at a function where he inaugurated the MNS election campaign office on the Kalyan Shilphata Road in Thane district.

The MNS had declared to contest the elections solo without joining ruling or opposition alliances. "I will oversee the filing of nomination papers for Jadhav and Patil on October 24," the MNS chief had said.

The MNS had won one seat each in the 2014 and 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections.

As per the Election Commission's schedule, voting for the Maharashtra Assembly will take place in a single phase on November 20. The counting of votes will be done on November 23.
