Maharashtra Results 2024: Exit polls reflected a divided outlook for Maharashtra, with most predicting an edge for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance but others hinting at a close contest with the MVA.

Maharashtra Election Results 2024: After more than the first hour of counting votes, it is becoming clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led MahaYuti alliance will be storming back to power. At 9.45 am, Mahayuti is leading at 188 assembly seats, way ahead of the majority mark in the 288-member Maharashtra assembly. The Congress-NCP (SP)-SS(UBT) or Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is just ahead on 77 assembly seats in Maharashtra.

Exit Polls Predicted BJP-Led Alliance's Edge In Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024  

Most exit polls predicted a victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in the Maharashtra assembly elections, though some surveys suggested a strong performance by the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition. With the majority mark set at 145 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly, the results are poised to shape the political landscape of the western state.  

The elections were conducted in a single phase on November 20, coinciding with the second phase of polling in Jharkhand.

   - BJP-led Mahayuti: 150-170 seats, 48% vote share.  
   - MVA: 110-130 seats, 42% vote share.  
   - Others: 8-10 seats, 10% vote share.

   - MVA: 85-112 seats.  
   - Others: 7-12 seats.
