Madhya Pradesh Election: Kejriwal Says AAP Will Contest All 230 Seats, Promises Free Electricity

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from all the 230 seats.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections from all the 230 seats.

He said that the AAP will now become an alternative in Madhya Pradesh. "They [BJP] ruled the state for 20 years. But now AAP will become an alternative for the people. BJP will face problems in the next Lok Sabha elections. [PM Narendra] Modi ji is scared of the AAP."

The Madhya Pradesh elections are slated to be held in November 2023.

Kejriwal pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party had revolutionised the education sector in Delhi. "No party has ever sought votes, promising education for your kids. They don't want education for your children," he said addressing a public meeting in Bhopal.

KEJRIIWAL'S 'MLA LE LO' DIG

Taking a dig at the Congress and the BJP, Kejriwal said: "As soon as elections are over, a party comes out with their hawking truck, screaming 'MLA le lo MLA'. It sets discounts on the number of MLAs being traded. And another party gets up and about to buy the MLAs. They have turned the entire electoral system and the Constitution into a marketplace." He alleged that irrespective of which party people voted for, the government would be formed by BJP.

"People are helpless. It doesn't matter whether you vote for Congress or BJP. Only Mama [Shivraj Singh Chouhan] will form the government. But their game is over. AAP's broom will sweep them away," he said.

'WON'T SEEK VOTES NEXT TIME IF...'

Arvind Kejriwal said people had given many chances to the Congress and the BJP, but they failed to fulfil the aspirations of voters. "Congress ruled for 45 years. Then came BJP, which ruled for 20 years. If they wanted to bring about a change, they would have done so by now. Give me one chance. AAP will develop MP like we have done with Delhi and Punjab. If we fail to do our job, I won't come to seek votes next time."

KEJRIWAL PROMISES FREE POWER, HEALTH SCHEMES

"People of Delhi gave me a small chance to form a 49-day government. They were so happy that they kept giving us their votes. Impressed with AAP's work in Delhi, people of Punjab gave us power," he added. Kejriwal also promised free power to Madhya Pradesh on the lines of schemes in Delhi and Punjab.

Arvind Kejriwal said that if voted to power, the AAP will open mohalla clinics and make treatment free in Madhya Pradesh.

Speaking about the employment sector, the AAP's national convenor said: "I urge the youth of Madhya Pradesh to give me one chance. I will give you jobs and we will make all contractual employees in the state permanent."

'PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA SHOULD BE EDUCATED'

Lashing out at PM Narendra Modi over the arrests of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal said that he feels "the country should have an educated pm". "For the first time in independent India, a person had revolutionised education to such an extent that the children of poor autorickshaw drivers are becoming doctors and engineers. That person was Manish Sisodia, who was imprisoned by PM Modi. That day I felt the PM of this nation should have been educated."

"Had the Prime Minister been educated, he would have realised how important education is for the development of the nation. Had he loved the nation, he would not have looked at Sisodia's political affiliation. Rather, he would have made Sisodia the education minister of the country," Kejriwal said.
