Varun Gandhi stokes controversy, says voting for SP, BSP is like voting for Pakistan
Addressing the public rally, Varun Gandhi said, “This time, vote for Mother India. My mother is contesting the elections. She is a good person, she believes in humanity, she is honest and there is no taint on her in the last 35 years.
Sultanpur: A day after Varun Gandhi courted controversy over his remarks against SP-BSP alliance's joint candidate from Sultanpur, the BJP lawmaker from Sultanpur again racked up a fresh controversy by terming leaders of SP-BSP alliance as “Pakistanis”.
Gandhi made the remarks while campaigning for his mother and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur. It is notable that Varun Gandhi,is contesting from his mother, Maneka Gandhi’s constituency Pilibhit, while his mother is contesting from his parliamentary seat Sultanpur.
Addressing the public rally, Varun Gandhi said, “This time, vote for Mother India. My mother is contesting the elections. She is a good person, she believes in humanity, she is honest and there is no taint on her in the last 35 years. But still, I have come to meet you on the behalf of Mother India, not for my mother.”
As he asked, “Are you ready to vote for Mother India,” the people replied ‘We are ready’. Further, Varun Gandhi asked the people to refrain from voting for the alliance and claimed, “these are Pakistani people. Are they or not?”
On Friday, he had ensured “national identity” to Sultanpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh, which he said was earlier known as Amethi’s neighboring district. Amethi is currently represented by Varun Gandhi’s cousin, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. “I have ensured national identity to Sultanpur.
It was earlier known as Amethi’s neighbouring district,” Varun Gandhi said at a rally. “If you feel poverty and it pinches, bear it. But if you elect a criminal, it will pinch more,” Varun Gandhi said, claiming that he was the only MP who did not take any salary.
