Congress Releases List Of 3 Lok Sabha Candidates From Telangana

The party has named Velichala Rajender Rao from Karimnagar, Mohammed Waliuullah Sameer from Hyderabad and Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy from Khammam.

Congress on Wednesday released a list of candidates for the Lok Sabha Elections in Telangana naming contestants from Khammam, Hyderabad and Karimnagar Lok Sabha seats.

April 25 is the last date to submit nominations. With this announcement, the Congress has declared candidates for all the 17 seats in Telangana.

The party has named Velichala Rajender Rao from Karimnagar, Mohammed Waliuullah Sameer from Hyderabad and Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy from Khammam.
The grand-old party earlier today also announced candidates for Lok Saba and Assembly elections from Andhra Pradesh.

According to a report in PTI, competing claims by senior party leaders in Telangana is reportedly the reason behind the delay in the announcement of candidate from Khammam.

Buoyed by its victory in the Assembly polls held in November last year, Congress is hoping to win a majority of the 17 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. Polling will be held in Telangana on May 13.

The list comes ahead of the second phase of elections where 89 Lok Sabha seats across 13 states will go to polls on April 26. The voting will be held in Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir.
