Shah will first address a rally in the South Dinajpur district in Bengal at 12 pm and will then travel to Bihar for another rally in Gaya district.
As the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections inch closer with each passing day, West Bengal is set to witness intense campaigning by top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on April 10 (Wednesday) will address two public rallies in West Bengal and Bihar. He will begin by addressing a rally at around 12 pm in Balurghat situated in Daulatpur in the South Dinajpur district in West Bengal which comes under the Balurghat Lok Sabha constituency.
BJP state President Sukanta Majumdar is the candidate from Balurghat.
Thereafter, the Home Minister will travel to Bihar where the top BJP brass will address another rally at Guraru in the Gaya district in Bihar which comes under the Aurangabad Lok Sabha constituency.
Earlier, in an interview, Shah had stated that the saffron party would win more than 25 of 42 seats in Bengal. On Tuesday, the BJP leaders in Bengal hinted that Shah was likely to focus on Sandeshkhali.
The Union Minister's visit also coincides with the completion of a month since the CAA Rules were announced.
“He is likely to dispel myths the opposition is trying to spread. He will reassure people that CAA is not to take away anyone’s citizenship,” Times Of India reported citing a BJP leader.
The Bengal BJP leaders are also reportedly in contact with the office of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath for a probable visit on April 11 (Thursday).
“There is no confirmation yet. Adityanath had been in Bengal for campaigning during the last Lok Sabha polls and the 2021 assembly polls,” the reported quoted a state BJP leader as saying.
Prime Miniser Narendra Modi will also likely address rallies at Balurghat and Raiganj on April 16.
