'PoK Belongs To India, No One Can..': Shah Slams Congress After Mani Shankar Aiyar's 'Respect Pak' Remark Sparks Row

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public meeting in Jharkhand's Khunti Lok Sabha constituency, which goes for polling in the fourth phase on May 13.

With the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections just around the corner, Union Home Minister on Friday visited Jharkhand's Khunti Lok Sabha constitueny to address a public meeting at Kutchery Ground, showcasing his support for saffron party's candidate from Khunti, Arjun Munda, whose political fate will be locked on May 13. While addressing the rally, the Union Home Minister slammed Congress over Mani Shankar Aiyar's recent remarks that triggered a political storm.

Congress's Mani Shankar Aiyar had remarked that "India should respect Pakistan... They have an atom bomb...".

Criticising Congress for its leader's remarks, Shah said: "Today, Manishankar Aiyar is threatening the country, saying to respect Pakistan because they have atomic bombs. A few days ago, the leader of the same Indi Alliance, Farooq Abdullah had said don't talk about PoK, Pakistan has atomic bombs. I want to tell the Congress and I.N.D.I.A Bloc people that PoK belongs to India, no one can take it away."

During the election rally, Shah said: "What has the Congress done for the tribals? In the last 10 years, PM Modi completed many works which were not moving. Congress did not resolve the Ram Mandir issue for 70 years. Their vote bank is the people who are intruding on the tribal land. If anyone can stop them, then it is the BJP. Can Congress or JMM stop them?"

"Narendra Modi eliminated Naxalism in Jharkhand and Bihar...After many years, ration cards were given to people and a public health centre is being constructed in Burra Pahar," Shah added.

Stressing how PM Modi ended Naxalism in Jharkhand, the Union Home Minister said: “States like Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh were under the shadow of Naxalism. Due to that, no development happened here. You chose Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister twice and he ended the Naxalism in Jharkhand and Bihar and initiated development.

"After so many years, free ration cards were distributed among people at Jharkhand's Buddha Pahad, medical shops were opened, and now a public health centre is also being built," Shah added.

Highlighting the work done by PM Modi to ban PFI, Shah said: "PFI used to spread terrorism across the country, and it received the biggest support from the governments of Congress and JMM here. Narendra Modi raided over 100 locations in just one night, putting the entire cadre of PFI in jail and working to ban PFI."
