PM Modi Makes Another Multilingual Appeal For Lok Sabha Phase 2 Polls After Low Turnout In First Leg

Lok Sabha Phase 2 Polls: PM Modi, Union Ministers Amit, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal and Rajnath Singh urged people to exercise their franchise after the first phase saw a lower voter turnout.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the voters to participate in record numbers as the second phase of polls opened on Friday for 88 Lok Sabha seats across 12 states and one Union Territory. After a relatively lower voter turnout in the first phase last week, Modi stressed that a higher voter turnout strengthens democracy.

"Urging everyone in constituencies voting today, in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, to participate in record numbers," said Modi in a social media post on X, adding, "A high voter turnout strengthens our democracy."

"I especially urge our young voters and women voters to turn out in great numbers. Your vote is your voice," he added.

He sent out the post in six other regional languages including Hindi, Bangla, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Assamese as polling began in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Manipur, Rajasthan, and Tripura. PM Modi Makes Another Multilingual Appeal For Lok Sabha Phase 2 Polls After Low Turnout In First Leg
