"Many people including the party said that I used unparliamentary language, if it is so then I express my sadness at it...I will give an official reply to the notice," Ghosh added.
The controversy erupted on Tuesday when Ghosh said that CM Mamata Banerjee needs to "fix the identity of her father".
During an election campaign trail in Bengal's Durgapur on Tuesday, Ghosh said, "When she goes to Goa, she says she is the daughter of Goa. When she goes to Tripura, she says she is the daughter of Tripura. First, fix the identity of your father. It’s not good to be everyone’s daughter."
