RLJP 'Integral Part' Of NDA: Pashupati Paras Says Party Will Extend 'Full Support' For 40 LS Seats In Bihar

Lok Sabha Election 2024: RLJP chief Pashupati Paras reaffirmed his party's commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA despite disagreements over seat-sharing in Bihar.

Pashupati Kumar Paras, the President of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), has declared his party's unwavering allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) amidst the seat-sharing disagreement in Bihar. In a statement, Paras affirmed RLJP's integral position within the NDA alliance, pledging full support towards achieving victory in 40 Lok Sabha seats across Bihar.

He underscored the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership within the NDA, expressing confidence in securing a third term for the alliance.

"Our party RLJP is an integral part of NDA. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also our leader and his decision is paramount for us. Under his leadership, NDA will form the government for the third time by winning 400+ seats in the entire country with a record-breaking majority. Also, our party has and will extend full support in winning the 40 Lok Sabha seats of Bihar," he wrote on X.

Pashupati Paris Resigned From Modi Cabinet Over Snub To RLJP In NDA's Bihar Seat Allocation

Paras's commitment to the NDA comes after his party was excluded from the seat-sharing arrangements in Bihar, prompting his resignation from the Union cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The RLJP, led by Paras, expressed dissatisfaction over the seat-sharing agreement, particularly the BJP's decision to allocate five seats to the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) faction led by Chirag Paswan, Paras's estranged nephew.

Paras had aspired to contest from the Hajipur constituency, leading to contention with Chirag Paswan. Despite his claims, the BJP assigned the Hajipur seat to the LJP faction led by Chirag Paswan, exacerbating Paras's discontent.

In his resignation announcement, Paras accused the BJP of injustice towards his party, stating, "Injustice has been meted out to my party and especially me," as quoted by news agency PTI. Despite expressing grievances, Paras refrained from making strong comments against the BJP or its leaders.
