'Alliance Is Strong': Jharkhand CM Champai Soren On Speculation Of Rift Between JMM And Congress

Jharkhand CM Champai Soren said that the alliance between Congress and JMM is strong and there is no issue.

Jharkhand News: Amid speculation of a possible rift between Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress over the new cabinet, Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren said that there is no issue and the alliance is strong. On seat-sharing talks between JMM and Congress for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, he said, "Whatever discussion is held, you (the media) will be informed about it."

On being asked about disgruntled Congress MLAs reaching Delhi, he said, "This is an internal matter of the Congress party, they will resolve it. I have nothing to say about that. There is no conflict between JMM and Congress and everything is absolutely fine," as quoted by PTI.

As many as 12 MLAs of the grand-old party have threatened to boycott the upcoming state assembly session from February 23 and head to Jaipur if the ministers are not replaced with new faces.

Following the formation of the new cabinet in Jharkhand, Champai Soren, along with state Congress President Rajesh Thakur, arrived at Jharkhand Bhawan in the national capital on Saturday.

Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur said on Saturday that CM Soren will meet Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge. According to news agency ANI, some MLAs who are upset about not being part of the cabinet are in the national capital to discuss their concerns with Mallikarjun Kharge.

Amid speculation of a possible rift between JMM and the Congress over the new cabinet, former Chief Minister Hemant Soren's brother and party leader Basant Soren said that Congress MLAs had some doubts that have been removed. "No one is upset. They (the Congress MLAs) had some doubts, but all of that has been removed. Our family is united. Everyone is satisfied now. I am going to Delhi," Basant Soren said, as quoted by ANI.
