Himachal Polls: Won On His Name, Can't Neglect Virbhadra Singh’s Family Now, Says Pratibha Singh

Her son and MLA from Shimla Rural, Vikramaditya Singh who is also being seen as a contender for CM race said that the decision to elect the new CM should be left with the newly-elected legislators.

New Delhi: With Congress winning the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the next contest has started as to who will be chosen as the next Chief Minister of the state within the party. State party president Pratibha Singh is being considered a key frontrunner, closely followed by former party chief Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and outgoing Congress Legislature Party leader Mukesh Agnihotri.

Ahead of the Legislative meeting, Pratibha Singh, wife of former Himachal CM Virbhadra Singh said that it can not be that his “name, face and family are used and credit is given to someone else,” reported news agency ANI as saying.

"They can't neglect his (Virbhadra Singh) family. We won on his name, face and work. It can't be that you use his name, face and family and give credit to someone else. High Command won't do this," she said.

On Congress winning the polls, she said, “This big responsibility was given by Sonia Gandhi and she told me that she was choosing me as state chief and now I'll (Singh) have to go to all 68 constituencies and win the state. I did that honestly. Result is before us.”
