Background

Gujarat Results 2022 Winners List LIVE Updates: Hello and welcome to the ABP Live blog for all the latest updates on winning candidates of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022. The elections to 182-member Gujarat Legislative Assembly took place in two phases with the first phase on December 1 and the second one on December 5.

The first phase of polling in 89 Assembly constituencies across 19 districts in the Saurashtra-Kutch coastal region and the southern parts of Gujarat recorded a voter turnout of 60.2 per cent. In the second phase, 93 Assembly constituencies across 114 districts witnessed a voter turnout of 58.8 per cent.

The high-stakes Gujarat Elections 2022 saw large-scale rallies, roadshows and campaigns with star campaigners from every party as the Bharatiya Janata Party is seeking to retain an eighth consecutive term, while a third dimension has been added to the contest between BJP and Congress with debutant Aam Aadmi Party which is trying to create some ripple.

On the cards are the fate of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi, and youth leaders Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakor, among a total of 1,621 candidates.

The polls took place amid two issues prevalent in the state with the Morbi bridge collapse and the release of 11 rape convicts of Bilkis Bano.

A total of 70 political outfits and 624 independents were in the fray.

The ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll Results 2022 had projected a clean sweep for BJP with a seat range of 128 to 140 while the Congress was estimated to get 31-34 seats and AAP is likely to open its account with seats between 3-11.

In the 2017 election, the BJP won 99 seats in Gujarat and the Congress 77.

Apart from the main rivals BJP, Congress and AAP, 101 candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and 26 from Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) also contested the polls.
