Gujarat Election 2022: PM Modi’s Brother Dismisses AAP As A Challenger, Says Congress Is Now ‘Shunya’

Gujarat Assembly Election 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brother, Prahlad Modi, dismissed AAP's equation in the upcoming assembly polls in the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s brother Prahlad Modi on Sunday said that there have always been only two political parties in Gujarat- BJP and Congress and never a third. He dismissed AAP as a challenger in the Gujarat Assembly Polls and said that BJP has come to its full force now that Congress is “nil”.

"In the state of Gujarat, the Congress is now 'shunya' (nil) and the BJP has come to its full force. Only two parties, Congress and BJP, have clicked in the state. There has never been any third party (in Gujarat)," Prahlad Modi, who is in Barabanki on the invitation of BJP leader Sumit Singh, said as quoted by PTI.

He was replying to the questions on the prospects of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat in the upcoming elections. Talking about his visit he said that he has a family relation with BJP's Sumit Singh and has come on his invitation, and there is no other reason for his visit.

“The people of the country have got a prime minister of their liking and in 2024, BJP will form its government again,” he claimed.

Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that there is a strong anti-incumbency wave against the ruling BJP in Gujarat and people will "teach them a lesson" this assembly election. Inflation, rising unemployment, and poor infrastructure were a cause of concern in Gujarat and the people there will vote on these issues, he told reporters on the sidelines of Rajasthan Digifest 2022.

Elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases on December 1 and December 5, and the results will be declared along with that of Himachal Pradesh on December 8. The hill state went to polls on Saturday.
