Goa Election Results 2022 Live Updates: Hello and welcome to ABP Live on the Assembly Election 2022 Counting Day. Follow this space to get all the latest updates, news, reactions from the Goa assembly election 2022 results.

The Goa Assembly elections 2022 were conducted in 40 assembly seats on February 14 and recorded a very high voter turnout of 78.94 per cent. Addressing a press conference, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kunal earlier said the highest voting was registered in the Sankhalim constituency in North Goa at 89.61 per cent, while the lowest voter turnout was 70.20 per cent at Benaulim in South Goa.

The prominent candidates include Chief Minister Pramod Sawant (BJP), Leader of the Opposition Digambar Kamat (Congress), former CMs Churchill Alemao (TMC), Ravi Naik (BJP), Laxmikant Parsekar (free), former deputy CMs Vijai Sardesai (GFP) and Sudin Dhavalikar (MGP), late CM Manohar Parrikar's child Utpal Parrikar and AAP's CM face Amit Paleker.

According to the exit poll of ABP C-Voter, there is a tough fight between BJP and Congress in Goa.

Congress: 12-16

BJP: 13-17

AAP: 1-5

MGP+: 5-9

Others: 0-2
 
For any party in the state, a figure of 21 seats is required for the majority. In the 2017 Goa Legislative Assembly election, voting was held on 4th February 2017 when the term of the assembly ended on 18th March 2017. VVPAT-fitted EVMs were used across Goa in the 2017 elections, marking the first time VVPAT has been implemented across the state in India.

In the last election, the Manohar Parrikar-led Bharatiya Janata Party got a majority of 21 seats. Parrikar was elected chief minister.

Goa Election 2022: BJP Secure 33.31% Vote Share Against Congress' 23.46 %

 BJP which won 20 seats in 40 members Goa Assembly secured 33.31 % vote share while the Congress party got 23.46% of the total votes polled in this election and 11 seats. MGP on the other hand won only 2 seats with a 7.60% vote share. AAP too won 2 seats with 6.77% votes. Interestingly, Trinamool Congress failed to win a single seat despite securing 5.21% votes in the election. Goa Forward, whose tally went down from 3 to 1 seat polled 1.84% votes, NCP 1.14%, Shiv Sena 0.18% and other parties including Revolutionary Goans Party & independents got 19.37% votes. What is noteworthy is that NOTA got 1.12% votes.
