'Doctored Manifesto': Cong's Dig At Modi As Delhi Police Trends On X After Action In Amit Shah Fake Video Case
Amid the controversy over Amit Shah's fake video, the Congress has hit out at PM Modi for "doctoring" the Congress Manifesto in his election speeches.
Amit Shah fake video case: The Congress on Friday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the Delhi Police arrested the handler of a pro-Congress X handle, Arun Reddy, for sharing a doctored clip of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. At least four arrests have been made in the case so far. Earlier, two persons from Gujarat and one from Assam had been arrested in the Amit Shah fake video case.
After Reddy's arrest, #DelhiPolice started trending on X (formerly Twitter). Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and four other Congress leaders have also been summoned in the case. Earlier the X handle of Jharkhand Congress was withheld in response to a complaint pertaining to the case after it shared the fake video.
The Delhi police is arresting people on the grounds that they doctored a video. What about a person who is going round the country doctoring a Nyay Patra and spreading a pandemic of lies?

Soon after #DelhiPolice started trending on X, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh posted: "The Delhi police is arresting people on the grounds that they doctored a video. What about a person who is going round the country doctoring a Nyay Patra and spreading a pandemic of lies? [sic]" He was clearly referring to PM Modi who in his recent election speeches falsely claimed that the Congress in its manifesto mentioned that it would conduct surveys of the properties of Hindus and redistribute their wealth among Muslims. He also said that even the 'mangalsutra' of women would be snatched if the Congress came to power.

Priyanka Gandhi hit back at PM Modi, saying that her mother (Sonia Gandhi) had sacrificed her 'mangalsutra' for the nation while her grandmother, former PM Indira Gandhi, had donated all her jewellery when the country was in crisis.

जब… pic.twitter.com/E5cfHZoJRR

Amit Shah's Fake Video
After Amit Shah's doctored video went viral, the Union Home Minister addressed a press conference in Assam's Guwahati where he played the original videos alongside the doctored clip to prove that the viral one was fake. The viral clip portrayed him as saying that the BJP would snatch away the "illegal rights of people from the OBC and SC/ST communities".
Soon after the clip went viral police forces in various states, including the Delhi Police, sprung into action to prosecute those who spread the video.
