Delhi Elections: Congress Promises To Give Rs 8,500 To Youths But With This Condition

Delhi Elections: Congress on Sunday promised to give Rs 8,500 to every educated unemployed youth for one year under 'Yuva Udaan Yojana' if voted to power in Delhi, which will go to polls on February 5.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot while making the announcement said this is not only a financial help but the party will give them employment too. "The people of Delhi are going to elect a new government on 5th February...We are going to present some guarantees for the people of Delhi. Today, our party has decided that we will provide Rs 8,500 per month to the youths of Delhi who are educated but unemployed for a period of one year. This is not just financial help. We will try to get them absorbed in the industry in which they have been trained," he said.

Earlier, the Congress promised to give monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to women under 'Pyari Didi Yojna' if voted to power in Delhi. The scheme would be rolled out on the lines of the model adopted by the Congress government in Karnataka.

Delhi Election Schedule
The Delhi Assembly Election will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The contest will be interesting in Delhi, owing to the Congress and the AAP, both allies at the national level, fighting on opposite sides. The contest is expected to be a three-corner fight between the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Aam Aadmi Party.
Delhi has a total of 1.55 crore voters this year — 83.49 men, 71.74 women, and 1,261 transgenders. As many as 2.08 lakh first-time voters are eligible to cast their ballots.
Moreover, Delhi will have 1.09 lakh voters aged above 85 and there will be 830 centenarians eligible to vote.
