Chhattisgarh Polls: Amit Shah Releases 'Chargesheet' Against Baghel Govt, Says State Now 'Gandhi Family's ATM'

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government, Amit Shah accused CM Bhupesh Baghel of turning Chhattisgarh into an "ATM” for the Gandhi family.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday released an "Arop Patra" (chargesheet) against the Bhupesh Baghel government, accusing it of indulging in scams and loot, and committing atrocities against the people in poll-bound Chhattisgarh, news agency PTI reported. Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government at a rally in Raipur, Amit Shah also accused CM Baghel of turning Chhattisgarh into an "ATM” for the Gandhi family by looting the people of the state.

Listing out the alleged scams related to coal, liquor and online betting, Amit Shah said, “People of Chhattisgarh have to decide whether they want the Bhupesh Baghel government, which has committed corruption to the tune of thousands of crores or BJP government that paves the way for development.”

The Union Minister also alleged the Congress government did nothing to prevent religious conversions in the tribal areas.

"People have to decide whether they want the Baghel government that talks about protecting the rights of tribals even as religious conversions flourish under it or the BJP government which protects and preserve tribals and their culture," PTI quoted Shah as saying.

Taking further potshots at the ruling Congress government in the state, Amit Shah said the party has “broken all records” in corruption and said if voted to power, the BJP will ensure that those found guilty are brought to book.

Citing a money laundering case over an alleged illegal betting app 'Mahadev Online Book', Amit Shah asked if the people would want to vote for a party that is pushing the youth towards online betting or if they would elect BJP that would work for development.

The senior BJP leader also expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre will be elected to power again, and said the BJP will form a government with full majority in Chhattisgarh before that. He said the saffron party will win all 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
