Assembly Elections 2023: PM Narendra Modi has shared a post on X requesting people, especially young voters, of Mizoram and Chhattisgarh to cast vote

Elections 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the voters in Chhattisgarh and Mizoram to exercise their franchise and participate in the festival of democracy. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the PM requested the voters of phase-1 assembly polls in Chhattisgarh to cast votes. He also called upon the people, especially first-time voters, to vote in large numbers in Mizoram.

"Today is the sacred festival of democracy in Chhattisgarh. I request all the voters of the first phase of assembly elections to cast their votes and become participants of this festival. On this occasion, my special congratulations to all the young friends of the state who voted for the first time!" the PM shared in a post on X.

"I call upon the people of Mizoram to vote in record numbers. I particularly urge the young and first time voters to exercise their franchise and strengthen the festival of democracy," PM Modi said.

Voting is underway for Mizoram's 40-seat assembly and 20 constituencies of Chhattisgarh's 90-seat assembly.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga exuded confidence amid polling and said there will be no hung Assembly as his party, Mizo National Front (MNF) will sweep more seats than the 21-majority mark. He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not an alliance partner in the state and that MNF supports the ruling National Democratic Alliance only at the Centre.
