Tejashwi Yadav To Chair Mahagathbandhan Meeting Today Reviewing Bihar Poll Preparations
The alliance will address coordination, potential new partners (RLJP, AIMIM), and issues to target the current government.
Bihar Politics: A meeting of the Mahagathbandhan regarding the upcoming assembly elections is scheduled to be held on Thursday at 11:30 AM at the residence of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Patna. Discussions on election preparations and seat-sharing are expected during the meeting and the framework for a joint election campaign and a common minimum program may also be decided. Deliberations will also take place on election strategy for the assembly polls in the state scheduled to take place later this year.
In addition, talks will be held on ensuring coordination among the allied parties up to the booth level. Discussions may also be held on whether to form an alliance with Pashupati Paras' RLJP and Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM. A proposal for an alliance has been sent to the RJD by Owaisi's party. Detailed discussions may take place on the issues on which the Bihar government will be cornered in the elections.
Discussions on the CM candidate from the alliance is also likely to take place during the meeting. Tejashwi Yadav is being projected as the chief ministerial candidate of the Mahagathbandhan by the RJD, but the Congress does not seem to agree at the moment. The question is whether it will be announced today that Tejashwi is the Chief Ministerial face of the Mahagathbandhan? Today's meeting is the fourth meeting.
Parties Pressuring RJD for Seats
This meeting is taking place at a time when the allied parties are continuously putting pressure on the RJD for more seats. CPI(ML) is claiming 45 seats, while Vikassheel Insaan Party is claiming 60 seats. Congress wants 70 or more seats. In the 2020 elections, Congress contested on 70 seats in Bihar. Leaders of RJD, Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party, CPI(ML), CPI, and CPM, who are part of the Mahagathbandhan, will be present in today's meeting.
Along with the members of the Coordination Committee, members of all the sub-committees will also be present in this meeting. RJD leaders Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Sanjay Yadav, Alok Mehta, Ranvijay Sahu, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram, Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru, Leader of the Legislative Party Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Dr. Madan Mohan Jha, Kunal, Dhirendra Jha, Rajaram Singh from CPI(ML), Lalan Chaudhary, Ajay Kumar, Awadhesh Kumar from CPM, Ramnaresh Pandey, Rambabu Kumar, Ajay Kumar Singh from CPI, and Mukesh Sahni from VIP will be present in the meeting.
