Will Ensure Holistic Development: Rajasthan CM-Elect Bhajanlal Sharma
The Rajasthan CM-designate Bhajanlal Sharma also thanked former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for proposing his name as the new BJP legislature party leader.
New Delhi: BJP MLA Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and other senior party leaders after he was named as the next chief minister of Rajasthan. Sharma, who hails from Bharatpur, is a first-time MLA and won the Sanganer seat in the recently held Rajasthan polls.
Sharma also thanked former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for proposing his name as the new BJP legislature party leader.
"I would like to thank PM Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Union Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh. I would also thank former CM Vasundhara Raje for proposing my name (as new BJP legislature party leader)," Rajasthan CM-designate Bhajanlal Sharma said.

"I would like to assure you that all the MLAs of Rajasthan will definitely meet the expectations that the people have with us, with the BJP. Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we will ensure holistic development of Rajasthan in all areas," he further added.

Addressing a press conference, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that former CM Vasundhara Raje proposed Bhajanlal Sharma’s name during a meeting of the newly-elected legislators, and his name was agreed to unanimously.
Sharma, who is considered close to both the party organization and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been the state general secretary for the past 20 years under four state BJP Presidents -- Ashok Parnami, Madan Lal Saini, Satish Poonia and C.P. Joshi.
Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw were among the frontrunners for the top post.
