AAP Gained National Party Status In 10 Yrs, Thankful To People Of Gujarat: Sanjay Singh

Election Results 2022: A political party must be recognized in at least four states to be considered a national party.

New Delhi: Sanjay Singh, an AAP member of the Rajya Sabha, expressed gratitude to the Gujarati people on Thursday for his party's achievement of national party status in just ten years. "The AAP managed to bag the status of national party in just 10 years. That's the pace of growth of this party. We got around 35 lakh votes in Gujarat. All leaders worked hard and visited rural areas in Gujarat," he said during a press conference.

Meanwhile, AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has reacted to the party's new achievement by saying, "today, the AAP has become a national party. Results of Gujarat Elections have come and the party has become a national party. 10 yrs ago AAP was a small party, now after 10 yrs it has govts in 2 states & has become a national party."

Buoyed by the bumper victory of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi MCD elections and the exit polls of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Arvind Kejriwal-led Party has now become the "national party".

In Gujarat, assembly elections were held in two phases on December 1 and 5. At the conclusion of the second phase of the Gujarat elections, an approximate voter turnout of 59.11 percent was recorded.

On December 1, the first phase of the polling, 63.14 percent of people in Gujarat participated. While surveying for 68 gathering seats in Himachal Pradesh was hung on November 12.

Isudan Gadhvi, the face of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat, took an early lead over Vikram Madam, the Congress party's sitting MLA from Khambhalia, and Mulubhai Bera, the BJP, was seen finishing third.

In the assembly elections, Gadhvi received 13,658 votes after four rounds, while incumbent Madam received 9,889 votes. According to the most recent information that was made available by the Election Commission, Bera of the BJP had received 5,703 votes.

Criteria For Recognition Of National Political Party In India

A political party must be recognized in at least four states to be considered a national party, and it must win at least two seats and 6% of the votes cast in the Assembly election to be considered a state party. To put it another way, the AAP needs to win just two seats and get 6% of the votes in today's election. After eclipsing Congress as the second-largest party in Surat municipal polls in 2021 with about 28% of the vote, the AAP put on a good show.
