As the eagerly anticipated Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram draw closer, the ABP News C-Voter Survey has brought to light intriguing insights into the chief minister approval ratings and the choices for the next leader in these states. Dive into the findings to discover who captures the public's trust as chief minister and to gauge the prevailing mood of the people as they prepare to cast their votes.
Telangana:
The current Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, enjoys a 37.0% approval rating, indicating a significant level of support. However, a substantial 42.4 per cent respondents are dissatisfied with his performance. The data indicates a split in opinion about Rao's leadership. A significant 30.6 per cent of respondents are "very satisfied" with his work.
He is followed by A Revanth Reddy (INC) with 31.2 per cent, Bandi Sanjay (BJP) with 10.7 per cent, and Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM) with 2.1 per cent.
When it comes to selecting the next CM, A Revanth Reddy from the INC emerges as the frontrunner with 31.2 per cent support, closely followed by K Chandrashekar Rao. Bandi Sanjay of the BJP and other candidates trail behind. It is worth noting that 19.1 per cent of respondents remain undecided or prefer different candidates.
Rajasthan:
In Rajasthan, the incumbent Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot from the INC, commands a significant approval rating of 40.7 per cent, with 47.6 per cent of respondents expressing being "very much satisfied" with his work. Vasundhara Raje of the BJP, a former Chief Minister, garners 24.7 per cent support.
When asked about their satisfaction with the current Chief Minister, the majority of respondents seemed content with Gehlot's performance. However, the data reveals a contrasting picture among voters, as 27.7 per cent expressed dissatisfaction with his work.
Madhya Pradesh:
In Madhya Pradesh, the incumbent Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan of the BJP, holds a 38.0 per cent approval rating, while Kamal Nath from the INC stands at 42.4 per cent. The data indicates a closely contested race.
The satisfaction levels among the electorate are somewhat evenly distributed, with a significant 41.0 per cent expressing being "very much satisfied" with their Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. However, Kamal Nath, the former Chief Minister, remains a popular choice.
Chhattisgarh:
Congress's Bhupesh Baghel, who is also serving as the CM of the state, leads the way in Chhattisgarh with an approval rating of 45.8 per cent , indicating strong support for his leadership. The data also reveals that 44.8 per cent of respondents are "very much satisfied" with his work, making him the most approved Chief Minister among the states surveyed.
Raman Singh of the BJP, the former Chief Minister, trails behind with 20.7 per cent support, reflecting the dynamics of the state's politics.
Mizoram:
In Mizoram, the incumbent Chief Minister, Zoramthanga of the MNF, holds a 27.2 per cent approval rating. Meanwhile, Lalduhoma from the ZPM enjoys a 32.4 per cent preference as the next Chief Minister, surpassing Zoramthanga and other candidates.
The data indicates a diverse range of opinions, with 34.9 per cent expressing dissatisfaction with the current Chief Minister's performance. Only 26.1 per cent of respondents are "very much satisfied" with his work.
Assembly elections will be held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram between November 7 and 30. The counting of votes for all five states would take place on December 3.
Chhattisgarh is the only state where voting will take place in two stages, on November 7 and 17. While 20 of the 90 Assembly constituencies will vote in the first round, the remainder will vote on November 17.
Mizoram, which has 40 Assembly seats, will vote alongside Chhattisgarh in the first phase on November 7.
