Nagaland Assembly Election Schedule 2023

To elect the 60 legislative members of the Nagaland assembly, polling will be held on February 27 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2.

The push for the creation of 'Frontier Nagaland', made up of 16 districts from seven tribal groups, is expected to be a significant factor in the upcoming Nagaland election. The ruling party, a coalition between the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured 30 seats in the 2018 election and formed the government with support from additional members of other parties. However, the Nationalist People's Front (NPF) was the most successful party overall, winning 26 seats.

Meghalaya Assembly Election Schedule 2023

To elect the 60 legislative members of the Meghalaya assembly, polling will be held on February 27 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2.

In the 2018 assembly election in Meghalaya, the Indian National Congress (Congress) emerged as the largest party, winning 21 seats in the 60-member assembly. However, since it fell short of the halfway mark, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formed a coalition with the National People's Party (NPP) to form the government. Conrad Sangma was appointed as the Chief Minister.

Tripura Assembly Election Schedule 2023

To elect the 60 legislative members of the Tripura assembly, polling will be held on February 16 and the counting of votes will happen on March 2.

The most intriguing competition will take place in Tripura, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Left and Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee will face off. The BJP, as it did in the past elections in Karnataka and Gujarat, has changed its Chief Minister's face in Tripura, replacing Biplab Deb with Manik Saha to overcome the anti-incumbency. In the 2018 election, the BJP emerged victorious with 35 seats, dethroning the incumbent Chief Minister Manik Sarkar of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who had been in power for almost 20 years.
