Andhra Pradesh Elections 2019: Chandrababu Naidu likely to tender resignation as Jagan's YSRCP sweeps polls

In a major setback for the ruling TDP, Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP has taken an unassailable lead in both Assembly polls as well as Parliamentary polls.

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is likely to tender his resignation today, sources informed as the trends for the assembly election results in the south Indian states showed the Telugu Desam Party facing a rout. The development comes amid a stressed political situation in the Southern state, which is undergoing the counting procedure for both Parliamentary as well as Assembly election results. In a massive setback for the ruling TDP, Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP was leading at 149 seats at the time of publishing, while TDP was leading only on 25 seats and Janasena Party was leading on 1 seat. Jagan Mohan Reddy who spearheaded tireless campaigning in the state, is now all set to become the Chief Minister of the state as his party took a massive lead in the trends. Even in the Lok Sabha elections, the YSR Congress seems to be on course of making a clean sweep of the Lok Sabha seats with the party leading in all 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh. As per the latest election commission data, the YSRC-led by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is surging ahead in all the constituencies. The TDP, BJP and Congress are nowhere in the picture.  All parties fought the election on their own without any alliance, unlike in 2014 when the TDP-BJP sailed together.
