CBSE Class 12 Results HIGHLIGHTS: 83.4% PASS, girls outshine boys; PM Modi congratulates students

Background

Rampur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr. Nepal Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 23435 votes. The polling / voting in Rampur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Jaya Prada and Samajwadi Party#s Azam Khan

Rampur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Rampur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 59.15% Lok Sabha percent with 60.43% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 57.65% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 6905 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Rampur, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Dr. Nepal Singh of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Naseer Ahmad Khan by a margin of 23435 votes.

Jaya Prada Nahata attained 230724 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Begum Noor Bano Urf Mehtab Zamani Begum bagged 199793 votes
  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 85474 votes SP candidate P. Jaya Prada Nahata had got 289390 while INC got Bagum Noor Bano Alias Mehtab Zamani Begum votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Begum Noor Bano Urf Mahtab Zamani Begum attained 338493 votes and BJP's Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi bagged 223022 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Bharatiya Janta Party and Indian National Congress here Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 4966 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 74747 votes INC candidate Begam Nurbano Alias Mehtab Zamani Begum had got 271330 while BJP got Rajindra Kumar Sharma votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 49809 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rajendra Kumar Sharma attained 213429 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Zulfiquar Ali Khan bagged 163620 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 10792 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Zulfiqar Ali Khan attained 159144 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Rajendra Kumar Sharma bagged 148352 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Zulfiqar Ali Khan attained 242209 votes and BJP's Rajendra Kumar Sharma bagged 123252 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP(S) candidate by a margin of 70408 votes INC(I) candidate Zulfiqar Ali Khan had got 175972 while JNP(S) got Muqim-Ur-Rehman votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 88078 votes BLD candidate Rajendra Kumar Sharma had got 237708 while INC got Zulfiquar Ali Khan votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 64340 votes INC candidate Zulfiqar Ali Khan had got 198323 while BJS got Krishna Murari votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, SWA candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 48899 votes. Here, SWA leader N. S. Z. A. Khan attained 168447 votes and BJS candidate S. Ketu bagged 119548 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JS candidate with a difference of 43695 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ahmad Mahdi attained 92636 votes and JS candidate Shanti Sharan bagged 48941 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 68757 votes INC candidate Raja Syed Ahmad Mehdi had got 127864 while BJS got Sita Ram votes.
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated HMS candidate with a difference of 34753 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Abul Kalam Azad attained 108180 votes and HMS candidate Bishan Chandra Seth bagged 73427 votes
