Purulia: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr. Mriganka Mahato from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 153877 votes. The polling / voting in Purulia constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Jyotirmoy Mahto and All India Trinamool Congress#s Dr Mriganka Mahato

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Purulia, 9 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Dr. Mriganka Mahato of the All India Trinamool Congress as he defeated Narahari Mahato by a margin of 153877 votes.

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, FBL candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, FBL candidate Bir Singh Mahat0 attained 376313 votes and INC's Nepal Mahata bagged 219176 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, FBL candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, FBL candidate Bir Sing Mahato attained 375559 votes and INC's Gobinda Mukherjee bagged 265689 votes.

• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between LSS and INC here LSS candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 7413 votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 19192 votes. Here, Independent leader Bibhuti Bhusan Das Gupta attained 75890 votes and INC candidate Mahato Nagendra Nath Singh Deo bagged 56698 votes

લોકસભા ચૂંટણીમાં ગુજરાતમાં 2014નું જ પુનરાવર્તન થયું હતું. 2014ની જેમ આ વખતે પણ રાજ્યની તમામ 26 બેઠકો પર ભાજપનો ભગવો લહેરાયો હતો. દેશની હાઇપ્રોફાઇલ બેઠક પૈકીની એક ગાંધીનગર સીટ પરથી ભાજપ અધ્યક્ષ અમિત શાહનો સાડા પાંચ લાખ કરતા વધુ વોટથી વિજય થયો હતો.

ગુજરાતની હાઇપ્રોફાઇલ બેઠક ગાંધીનગરથી અમિત શાહે કોંગ્રેસના સી.જે.ચાવડાને 5,57,014 રેકોર્ડ મતથી હરાવ્યા. 2014માં આ બેઠક પરથી અડવાણી 4,83,121 મતથી જીત્યા હતા.

રાજકોટ બેઠક પરથી ભાજપના મોહનભાઈ કુંડારિયાનો ભવ્ય વિજય થયો હતો. તેમણે કોંગ્રેસના ઉમેદવાર લલિત કગથરાને 3,68,407 મતથી હાર આપી હતી. 2014માં કુંડારિયાએ 2,46,428 મતથી જીત મેળવી હતી.

વડોદરા બેઠક પરથી રંજનબેન ભટ્ટે કોંગ્રેસના પ્રશાંત પટેલને 5,84,915 મતથી પછાડ્યા. 2014માં આ બેઠક પરથી નરેન્દ્ર મોદી 5,70,128 મતથી જીત્યા હતા. બાદમાં તેમણે વારાસણી બેઠક જાળવી રાખવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો હતો. જેના કારણે આ બેઠક ખાલી પડી હતી અને પેટાચૂંટણીમાં રંજનબેન ભટ્ટનો વિજય થયો હતો.

નવસારી બેઠક પરથી સી.આર.પાટીલે જીતની હેટ્રિક લગાવી. પાટીલે કોંગ્રેસના ધર્મેશ પટેલને 6,89,668 મતના જંગી અંતરથી હાર આપી રેકોર્ડ સર્જ્યો. 2014માં પાટીલે 5,58,116 મતથી જીત મેળવી હતી.
