Purulia: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dr. Mriganka Mahato from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 153877 votes. The polling / voting in Purulia constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Jyotirmoy Mahto and All India Trinamool Congress#s Dr Mriganka Mahato
