Nellore: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy from YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) won the elections by a margin of 13478 votes. The polling / voting in Nellore constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telugu Desam Party#s Beedha Masthan Rao and YSR Congress Party#s Adala prabhakar reddy

Nellore 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telugu Desam Party won 15 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 29.1 percent vote share while the YSR Congress Party managed to win just 8 seats with a 28.9 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Nellore, 12 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy of the YSR Congress Party as he defeated Adala Prabhakara Reddy by a margin of 13478 votes.

• 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha election, YSR Congress Party candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 54993 votes YSRCP candidate Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy had got 430235 while TDP got Vanteru Venu Gopala Reddy votes.
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Panabaka Lakshmi attained 450129 votes and BJP's Balakondaiah Karupotala bagged 321905 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 40453 votes. Here, Telugu Desam Party leader Rajeswaramma Vukkala attained 381166 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Panabaka Lakshmi bagged 340713 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Communist Party of India candidate with a difference of 46527 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Panabaka Lakshmi attained 296731 votes and Communist Party of India candidate Buduru Swarnalatha bagged 250204 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Communist Party of India candidate by a margin of 68185 votes INC candidate Panabaka Lakshmi had got 269498 while CPM got Tummallagunta Prapancha Bhanu Raju votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 44857 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kudumula Padmasre (W) attained 268626 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate M. Nagabhushanamma (W) bagged 223769 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 71839 votes INC candidate Putchalapalli Penchalaiah had got 377602 while TDP got M.Nagabhushanamma votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Telugu Desam Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 53551 votes TDP candidate Penchalaiah Puchalapalli had got 296284 while INC got Orepalli Venkata Subbaiah votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate D. Kamakshaiah attained 294326 votes and CPM's T. P. Bhanu Raju bagged 67075 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated CPM candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kamakshaiah Doddavarapu attained 272184 votes and CPM's Prappancha Bhanuraju Thummalagunta bagged 129404 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BJS candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Doddav Arapukamakshiah attained 235658 votes and BJS's Bangapulakshman bagged 61724 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 16983 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader B. Anjanappa attained 130981 votes and IND candidate E.V. Chinnaiah bagged 113998 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SWA candidate by a margin of 71905 votes INC candidate B. Anjanappa had got 165206 while SWA got Meriga Ramakrishnaiah votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated IND candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate B. Anjanappa attained 220121 votes and IND's Mangalagiri Nandoss bagged 112294 votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, interesting battle could be seen between Independent and INC here Independent candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 1787 votes.
