Nawgong: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rajen Gohain from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 143559 votes. The polling / voting in Nawgong constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Rupak Sharma and Congress Party#s Pradyut Bordoloi
