Nagpur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Gadkari Nitin Jairam from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 284848 votes. The polling / voting in Nagpur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Nitin Gadkari and Congress Party#s Nana patole

Nagpur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 23 out of the 48 parliamentary seat with 27.3 percent vote share while the Shiv Sena managed to win just 18 seats with a 20.6 percent vote share.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 99483 votes INC candidate Vilas Muttemwar had got 373769 while BJP got Atalbahadursingh votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 72695 votes INC candidate Vilas Muttemwar had got 424450 while BJP got Vinod Yashwantrao Gudadhe (Patil) votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Vilas Muttemwar attained 486928 votes and BJP's Mantri Ramesh Manaklal bagged 323646 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Banwarilal Purohit attained 353547 votes and INC's Kunda Avinash Vijaykar bagged 232045 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 74720 votes INC candidate Meghe Dattaji Raghobaji had got 274448 while BJP got Banwarilal Purohit votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 90000 votes INC candidate Purhit Banwarilal Bhagwandas had got 277292 while BJP got Kukreja Arjundas votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated RPK candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Banwarilal Bhagwandas Purohit attained 293739 votes and RPK's Khobragde Shyam Dewaji bagged 163056 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated RPK candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Dhote Jambuwant Bapurao attained 246397 votes and RPK's Khobragade Shyam Dewaji bagged 119954 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated RPK candidate with a difference of 41553 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Awari Gev Mancharsha attained 172010 votes and RPK candidate Khobragade Bhaurao Dewaji bagged 130457 votes
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between FBL and INC here FBL candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 2056 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 31969 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader N. R. Deoghare attained 129736 votes and CPI candidate A. Bardhan bagged 97767 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 46868 votes. Here, Independent leader Madhao Shrihari Aney attained 131740 votes and INC candidate Rikhabchand Kalyanmal Sharma bagged 84872 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SCF candidate with a difference of 40303 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kale Anasuyabai Purushottam attained 105021 votes and SCF candidate Awade Haridas Damaji bagged 64718 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SP candidate by a margin of 59064 votes INC candidate Anusayabai Purushottam Kale had got 103566 while SP got Vinayak Sakharam Dandekar votes.
