Koppal: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Karadi Sanganna Amarappa from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 32414 votes. The polling / voting in Koppal constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sanganna Karadi and Congress Party#s Rajashekhar hitnal

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 17 out of the 28 parliamentary seat with 43 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 9 seats with a 40.8 percent vote share.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Janata Dal (United) candidate with a difference of 12512 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader H.G.Ramulu attained 350599 votes and Janata Dal (United) candidate Basavaraj Rayareddy bagged 338087 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 83122 votes INC candidate H.G.Ramulu had got 289681 while JD got Basavaraj Rayareddy votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 75841 votes JD candidate Basavaraj Raya Reddy had got 276914 while INC got Anwari Basavaraj Patil votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 11197 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Anwari Basavaraj Patil attained 241176 votes and JD candidate Siddaramaiah bagged 229979 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 23088 votes. Here, JD leader Basavaraj Patil attained 317341 votes and Indian National Congress candidate H.G.Ramulu bagged 294253 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 57951 votes INC candidate H. G. Ramulu had got 238466 while JNP got K. Paparao Veerayya votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate H.G. Ramulu attained 248077 votes and INC(U)'s H,R. Basavaraj bagged 86274 votes.

• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated IND candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sidrameshwar Swamy Bassayya attained 204285 votes and IND's Shivamurthy Swamy Hiremath Alwandi bagged 67685 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 24602 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader A. Sanganna attained 166690 votes and IND candidate S. S. Alwandi bagged 142088 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between LSS and INC here LSS candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 4281 votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 32756 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Sangappa Andanappa attained 130849 votes and IND candidate Sivamurthi Swami bagged 98093 votes
