Kolhapur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dhananjay Bhimrao Mahadik from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won the elections by a margin of 33259 votes. The polling / voting in Kolhapur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Shiv Sena#s Sanjay Mandlik and Nationalist Congress Party#s Dhananjay Mahadik

Kolhapur 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 23 out of the 48 parliamentary seat with 27.3 percent vote share while the Shiv Sena managed to win just 18 seats with a 20.6 percent vote share.

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kolhapur, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Dhananjay Bhimrao Mahadik of the Nationalist Congress Party as he defeated Sanjay Sadashiv Mandalik by a margin of 33259 votes.

Here, Independent leader Sadashivrao Dadoba Mandlik attained 428082 votes and Nationalist Congress Party candidate Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje Shahu bagged 383282 votes
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Nationalist Congress Party candidate defeated Shiv Sena candidate with a difference of 14753 votes. Here, Nationalist Congress Party leader Mandlik Sadashivrao Dadoba attained 401922 votes and Shiv Sena candidate Mahadik Dhananjay Bhimrao bagged 387169 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Nationalist Congress Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, NCP candidate Mandlik Sadashivrao Dadoba attained 346459 votes and INC's Udaysingrao Gaikwad bagged 237549 votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Shiv Sena candidate by a margin of 61598 votes INC candidate Mandlik Sadashiv Rao Dadoba had got 367951 while SHS got Ghatge Vikramsinh Jaisingrao votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Shiv Sena candidate by a margin of 68325 votes INC candidate Gaikwad Udaysingrao Nanasaheb had got 236739 while SHS got Ramesh Deo votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Shiv Sena candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Gaikwad Udaysingrao Nanasaheb attained 269508 votes and SHS's Phalake Ramchandra Shripatrao bagged 75177 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PWP candidate with a difference of 41128 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Gaikwad Udaysingrao Nanasaheb attained 274676 votes and PWP candidate Kalikate Govindrao Tukaram bagged 233548 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated PWP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Gaikwad Udaysingrao Nanasaheb attained 277603 votes and PWP's Killedar B.D. bagged 128129 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated PWP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Gaikwad Udayasingrao Nanasaheb attained 245757 votes and PWP's Desai Dajiba Balwant bagged 91314 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between PWP and INC; here PWP candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 165 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated PWP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Rajaram Dadasaheb Nimbalkar attained 203631 votes and PWP's Dajiba Balavant Desai bagged 95967 votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PWP candidate with a difference of 32710 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. D. Mane attained 158327 votes and PWP candidate D. S. Narvekar bagged 125617 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated PWP candidate by a margin of 63669 votes INC candidate Vishwanath Tukaram Patil had got 144856 while PWP got Bhausaheb Raosaheb Mahagaonkar votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha poll, SCF candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, SCF candidate Dige Shankarrao Khanderao attained 269605 votes and INC's More Krishnaji Laxman bagged 126544 votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 17758 votes. Here, Independent leader Kumbhar Ratnappa Bharamappa attained 163505 votes and INC candidate More Krishnaji Laxman bagged 145747 votes
