Kasaragod: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, P Karunakaran from Communist Party of India (CPM) won the elections by a margin of 6921 votes. The polling / voting in Kasaragod constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Communist Party of India (Marxist)#s KP Satishchandran and Congress Party#s Rajmohan unnithan
Kasaragod 2014 Lok Sabha PollsIn the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Indian National Congress won 8 out of the 20 parliamentary seat with 31.1 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 5 seats with a 21.6 percent vote share.

Out of the 14 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kasaragod, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of P Karunakaran of the Communist Party of India as he defeated Adv. T Siddique by a margin of 6921 votes.
