Jhansi: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Uma Bharati from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 190467 votes. The polling / voting in Jhansi constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Anurag Sharma and Samajwadi Party#s Shyam Sunder Singh Yadav

Jhansi 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 71 out of the 80 parliamentary seat with 42.3 percent vote share while the Samajwadi Party managed to win just 5 seats with a 22.2 percent vote share.

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Jhansi, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Uma Bharati of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav by a margin of 190467 votes.

Here, Indian National Congress leader Pradeep Kumar Jain Aditya attained 252712 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Ramesh Kumar Sharma bagged 205042 votes
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 26299 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Chandrapal Singh Yadav attained 238782 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Babu Lal Kushwaha bagged 212483 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 82521 votes INC candidate Sujan Singh Bundela had got 283387 while BJP got Rajendra Agnihotri votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Samajwadi Party candidate by a margin of 50368 votes BJP candidate Rajendra Agnihotri had got 273333 while SP got Hargovind Kushwaha votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Samajwadi Party candidate with a difference of 29684 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Rajendra Agnihotri attained 163836 votes and Samajwadi Party candidate Hargovind Kushwaha bagged 134152 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 82071 votes BJP candidate Rajendra Agnihotri had got 185185 while IND got Om Prakash Richariya votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Rajendra Agnihotri attained 283571 votes and INC's Sujan Singhbundela bagged 180373 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sujan Singh Bundela attained 245029 votes and BJP's Rajendra Agnihotri bagged 129106 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Vishwa Nath Sharma attained 191672 votes and CPI's Ramesh Sinha bagged 81918 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Sushila Naiyar attained 222118 votes and INC's Govind Das Richharia bagged 91633 votes.
• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated NCO candidate by a margin of 74571 votes INC candidate Govind Dass Richharia had got 143137 while NCO got Sushila Nayar votes.
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated BJS candidate with a difference of 37378 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. Nayar attained 103073 votes and BJS candidate R. Khera bagged 65695 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 11090 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Shushila Nayar attained 89445 votes and CPI candidate Panna Lal bagged 78355 votes
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 71769 votes INC candidate Sushila Nayar had got 109230 while CPI got Chandan Singh votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated SCF candidate by a margin of 63161 votes INC candidate Lotan Ram had got 151820 while SCF got Jwala Prasad votes.
