Jamui: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Chirag Kumar Paswan from Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) won the elections by a margin of 85947 votes. The polling / voting in Jamui constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Lok Janshakti Party#s Ram Chandra Paswan and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party#s Bhudev Chaudhary

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 22 out of the 40 parliamentary seat with 29.4 percent vote share while the Lok Janshakti Party managed to win just 6 seats with a 6.4 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Jamui Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 50.01% Lok Sabha percent with 50.19% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 49.81% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 19517 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 11 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Jamui, 8 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Chirag Kumar Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party as he defeated Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar by a margin of 85947 votes.

• 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate defeated NCO candidate with a difference of 41129 votes. Here, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Bhola Manjhi attained 162266 votes and NCO candidate Nayan Tara Das bagged 121137 votes
• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated CPI candidate with a difference of 14852 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader N. T. Das attained 127018 votes and CPI candidate B. Manjhi bagged 112166 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PSP candidate with a difference of 45796 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Nayantara Das attained 101440 votes and PSP candidate Rameshwar Prasad Verma bagged 55644 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate defeated SP candidate with a difference of 33536 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Banarsi Pd. Sinha attained 131586 votes and SP candidate Ram Kishun Lal bagged 98050 votes
