Background

Hisar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Dushyant Chautala from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won the elections by a margin of 31847 votes. The polling / voting in Hisar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Brijendra Singh and Congress Party#s Bhavya Bishnoi

Hisar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 7 out of the 10 parliamentary seat with 34.7 percent vote share while the Indian National Lok Dal managed to win just 2 seats with a 24.4 percent vote share.

The total voter turnout was 76.17% Lok Sabha percent with 77.23% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 41 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Hisar, 39 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Dushyant Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal as he defeated Kuldeep Bishnoi by a margin of 31847 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Lok Dal candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INLD candidate Surender Singh Barwala attained 396540 votes and INC's Birender Singh bagged 236088 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, HLD(R) candidate had defeated HVP candidate by a margin of 80491 votes HLD(R) candidate Surender Singh Barwala had got 260271 while HVP got Om Parkash Jindal votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, HVP candidate defated SAP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, HVP candidate Jai Parkash attained 306402 votes and SAP's Gauri Shanker bagged 131750 votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JP candidate with a difference of 26194 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Narain Singh attained 233012 votes and JP candidate Jai Parkash bagged 206818 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 44679 votes. Here, JD leader Jai Parkash attained 291073 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Virender Singh bagged 246394 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated LKD candidate by a margin of 51206 votes INC candidate Birinder Singh had got 251367 while LKD got Om Parkash votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, JNP(S) candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 92711 votes JNP(S) candidate Mani Ram S/O Harji Ram had got 192074 while INC(I) got Mani Ram S/O Ramjas votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Inder Singh attained 322456 votes and INC's Jaswant Singh bagged 79072 votes.
