Hardwar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 177822 votes. The polling / voting in Hardwar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal (Nishank) and Congress Party#s Ambrish kumar

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 5 out of the 5 parliamentary seat with 55.3 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 34 percent vote share.

• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Samajwadi Party candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 37659 votes. Here, Samajwadi Party leader Rajendra Kumar attained 157331 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Dr. Bhagwandass bagged 119672 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Bahujan Samaj Party candidate with a difference of 32847 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Harpal Singh Sathi attained 236844 votes and Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Ramesh Kumar Burman bagged 203997 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Samajwadi Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Harpal Singh Sathi attained 320229 votes and SP's Jag Pal Singh bagged 190356 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Samajwadi Party candidate by a margin of 66100 votes BJP candidate Harpal Sathi had got 227675 while SP got Jag Pal Singh votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Bharatiya Janta Party and JD here Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated his JD counterpart with a difference of 7197 votes.

People will be allowed to pay their last respects to the chief minister at the academy between 11 am and 4 pm, PTI quoted a BJP spokesperson as saying. Parrikar's final journey will begin after 4 pm when his remains will be taken to Miramar area in a procession, the spokesperson said, adding that the final rites will be performed at 5 pm.

The last rites of Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar will be performed at Miramar here on Monday evening, PTI quoted a BJP spokesperson as saying. Parrikar's mortal remains will be kept at the BJP head office from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Monday, before shifting them to the Kala Academy, the spokesperson said.

 Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar died died at his private residence here on Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 63.  The former Defence Minister's health, which has been fluctuating for a year, took a turn for the worse in the past two days. The condition of Parrikar turned 'extremely critical' on Sunday.He was suffering from a serious pancreatic ailment and undergoing treatment at his private residence at Dona Paula.
