Dharmapuri: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Anbumani Ramadoss from Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) won the elections by a margin of 77146 votes. The polling / voting in Dharmapuri constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Pattali Makkal Katchi#s Anbumani Ramadoss and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam#s Dr S Senthil Kumar

Dharmapuri 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 37 out of the 39 parliamentary seat with 44.3 percent vote share while the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win just 1 seats with a 5.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Dharmapuri Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 81.08% Lok Sabha percent with 81.50% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Dharmapuri, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Anbumani Ramadoss of the Pattali Makkal Katchi as he defeated Mohan.P.S by a margin of 77146 votes.

• 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha poll, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate defated Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate in one-sided contest. Here, DMK candidate R. Thamaraiselvan attained 365812 votes and PMK's Senthil. R. Dr. bagged 229870 votes.
• 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, PMK candidate Senthil, Dr. R. attained 397540 votes and BJP's Elangovan. P. D. bagged 181450 votes.
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate defeated All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate with a difference of 25540 votes. Here, Pattali Makkal Katchi leader Elangovan, P.D. attained 340162 votes and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Munusamy, K.P. bagged 314622 votes
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate had defeated TMC(M) candidate by a margin of 99427 votes PMK candidate Pary Mohan K. had got 341917 while TMC(M) got Theertharaman P. votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, TMC(M) candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TMC(M) candidate Theertharaman.P attained 297166 votes and INC's Subramaniyam.M.P bagged 165920 votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Thangka Balu K.V. attained 322138 votes and PMK's Elangovan P.D. bagged 171649 votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Pattali Makkal Katchi candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate Sekhar, M. G. attained 315921 votes and PMK's Elangovan, B. D. bagged 202901 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, ADK candidate defated Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, ADK candidate M. Thambi Duriai attained 333427 votes and CPI's Parvathi Krishnan bagged 182175 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 66871 votes DMK candidate Arjunan K. had got 209603 while JNP got Bhuvarahan G. votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated NCO candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Ramamurthy K. attained 239908 votes and NCO's Ponnuswami P bagged 134222 votes.
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, interesting battle could be seen between Independent and INC here Independent candidate defeated his INC counterpart with a difference of 4646 votes.
