Earlier, Kishor took to Twitter to thank voters for protecting the soul of India. "Thank you Delhi for standing up to protect the soul of India!," his post read. Last month, Kishor, who was the vice-president of Janata Dal (United), was sacked from the party's primary membership for  speaking against the party leadership over its stand on the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Kishor had joined the Janata Dal-United in September 2018.
