Delhi Polls: BJP Deriding Me After I Recited Hanuman Chalisa On ABP News, Says Kejriwal

'Lord Hanuman belongs to all,' said Kejriwal refuting the allegations made by BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari of defiling the deity at Hanuman Temple.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, after exercising his franchise in the Delhi Assembly elections, took on the Bharatiya Janata Party in a tweet and alleged that the party has been mocking him ever since he recited the 'Hanuman Chalisa' on a channel, referring to the bit from his exclusive interview with ABP News. "Ever since I have recited the 'Hanuman Chalisa' on a TV channel, the BJP is constantly mocking me. Yesterday, I went to Hanuman Temple. Today, BJP leaders are saying that the temple has turned impure by his visit. What kind of politics is this? God belongs to all. God blesses everyone, including those in the BJP," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi. Delhi Chief Minister had recited few lines of Hanuman Chalisa during an interview with ABP News. On a lighter note, he had said that he doesn't sing well and gave a warning before his singing. Watch the interview here: On Friday, Kejriwal along with his wife offered prayers at the famous Hanuman Temple near Connaught Place. Responding to Kejriwal’s tweet, BJP Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari said that “Kejriwal offered garland to Lord Hanuman, after taking off his shoes. This is an insult to God. Did he visit the temple to offer prayers or to defile the deity?” Talking to ABP News exclusively on Saturday, Kejriwal refuted the allegations made by Tiwari and said that he didn’t have to use his hands to take off his shoes. He said the party has been mocking him over his recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and his visit to Hanuman Mandir, but it seems to have forgotten that Lord Hanuman belongs to all. During an election rally in Delhi on February 4, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said, "Now Arvind Kejriwal has started reciting the 'Hanuman Chalisa'. In coming days, you will see Owaisi reciting the same. This will certainly happen.”
