Bishnupur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Khan Saumitra from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 149685 votes. The polling / voting in Bishnupur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 6 on 12 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Soumitra Khan and All India Trinamool Congress#s Shyamal Santra

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.
