Baramulla: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Muzaffar Hussain Baig from Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) won the elections by a margin of 29219 votes. The polling / voting in Baramulla constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between National Conference#s Mohammad Akbar Lone and Congress Party#s Haji farooq mir

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 3 out of the 6 parliamentary seat with 34.4 percent vote share while the Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party managed to win just 3 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Out of the 15 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla, 13 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Muzaffar Hussain Baig of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party as he defeated Sharief Ud-Din Shariq by a margin of 29219 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 36113 votes. Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Abdul Rashid Shaheen attained 84243 votes and Independent candidate Muzaffar Hussain Baig bagged 48130 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 37985 votes. Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Professor Saifuddin Soz attained 131164 votes and Independent candidate Muzaffar Hussain Baig bagged 93179 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Independent candidate by a margin of 64981 votes INC candidate Gh. Rasool Kar had got 110331 while IND got Gh. Nabi Mir votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 34420 votes. Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Saif Ud Din Soze attained 35139 votes and Independent candidate Sheikh Ad. Rahman bagged 719 votes
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JKN candidate Saif -Ud- Din Soz attained 234357 votes and IND's Mohi -Ud -Din -Wani bagged 93938 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defated Independent candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JKN candidate Khawaja Mubarak Shah attained 178533 votes and IND's Muzaffar Hussain Beg bagged 75256 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 47020 votes. Here, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leader Abdul Ahad attained 147222 votes and IND candidate Syed Alishah Geelani bagged 100202 votes
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 14498 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Syed Ahmad Aga attained 93041 votes and IND candidate Syed Ali Shah Gilani bagged 78543 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated JKN candidate with a difference of 20515 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S.A. Agha attained 101769 votes and JKN candidate A.G. Malik bagged 81254 votes
