Background

Ahmednagar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Gandhi Dilipkumar Mansukhlal from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 209122 votes. The polling / voting in Ahmednagar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 3 on 23 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sujay Vikhe and Nationalist Congress Party#s Sangram Jagtap

Ahmednagar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 23 out of the 48 parliamentary seat with 27.3 percent vote share while the Shiv Sena managed to win just 18 seats with a 20.6 percent vote share.

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Ahmednagar, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Gandhi Dilipkumar Mansukhlal of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Rajeev Appasaheb Rajale by a margin of 209122 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Nationalist Congress Party candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 75077 votes NCP candidate Gadakh Tukaram Gangadhar had got 362938 while BJP got Prof. N. S. Pharande votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Nationalist Congress Party candidate with a difference of 28457 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Dilipkumar Mansukhlal Gandhi attained 278508 votes and Nationalist Congress Party candidate Maruti Deoram Alias Dada Patil Shelke bagged 250051 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Shiv Sena candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 14245 votes. Here, Shiv Sena leader E.V. Alias Balasaheb Vikhe Patil attained 323024 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Maruti Devram Alias Dada Patil Shelke bagged 308779 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Shiv Sena candidate with a difference of 49409 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Maruti Deoram Alias Dada Patil Shelke attained 212751 votes and Shiv Sena candidate Damaniya Parvez Cawas bagged 163342 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Independent candidate with a difference of 11637 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Gadakh Yeshawantrao attained 279520 votes and Independent candidate E.V. Tatha Balasahed Vikhe Patil bagged 267883 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Gadakh .Y.K. attained 297209 votes and BJP's Faranda N.S bagged 143464 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Gadakh Yeshwantrao Kankarrao attained 281873 votes and JNP's Dhakne Babanrao Dadaba bagged 181550 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Athare Chandrabhan Balaji attained 260459 votes and INC(U)'s Nimbalkar Eknath Buwasaheb bagged 80245 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BLD candidate by a margin of 64813 votes INC candidate Shinde Annasaheb Pandurang had got 179550 while BLD got Gade Mohanrao Abasaheb votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 47843 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Annasaheb Pandurang Shinde attained 152262 votes and IND candidate Prabhakar Kondaji Bhapkar bagged 104419 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 50640 votes INC candidate A. V. Patil had got 142925 while CPI got E. L. Bhagwat votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 14038 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Motilal Kundanmal Firodya attained 113159 votes and IND candidate Prabhakar Kondaji Bhapkar bagged 99121 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Independent candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 24392 votes. Here, Independent leader Khadilakar Raghunath Keshav attained 85265 votes and INC candidate Bogawat Uttamchand Ramchand bagged 60873 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated CPI candidate by a margin of 59365 votes INC candidate Kanavade Pandharinath Ramchandra had got 102300 while CPI got Kakde Jagannath Kanoji votes.
