Western Railway Recruitment 2018: In a mega recruitment drive for Apprentices, the Western Railways is inviting applications to fill 5718 vacancies for the engagement of Apprentices in designated Trades for a period of one year under Apprentice Act 1961 for various Divisions, Workshops that come under the purview of Western Railways. The application process is currently ongoing at rrc-wr.com, and interested candidates must submit their online applications before 9th January 2019, 5 PM, next month, to avoid any technical glitches due to heavy website traffic during the last days. Western Railway Recruitment Important Dates: Submission of online application begins – 10th December 2018 Submission of online application ends – 9th January 2019 Declaration of Merit List – 15th January 2019 (Tentative) Document / Certificate Verification / Scrutiny begins – 21 st January 2019 onwards Date of commencement of Training – 1st April 2019 onwards Vacancy Details: Apprentice – 5718 posts Eligibility Criteria: Academic Qualifications:  The applicant must have passed Matriculation or Class 10th under 10+2 examination scheme with minimum 50% marks aggregate from a recognized education board. The applicant should also possess ITI certificate from an institute affiliated to NCVT/SCVT in the relevant trade. Apart from the above qualifications, the applicant must be able to meet Medical Fitness and Physical Standards as listed in the notification. Age-Limit: The applicant must fall in the age bracket of 15 to 24 years as on 9th January 2019. Age- relaxation rules apply for reserved and other categories as stated in the official advertisement given below. Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of a merit list prepared from their marks scored in matriculation and ITI certificate, giving equal weightage to both qualifying criterion.
