West Bengal: Class 12 WBCHSE Board Exam Dates Released; Details Here

In order to maintain to maintain the norms of social distancing, the education ministry has selected about 2500 exam centres. Each exam centre will have only 80-100 students.

Kolkata: West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on Tuesday announced Higher Secondary examination for the remaining papers. According to the latest updates, the Higher Secondary Board Exams 2020 will be on 29th June, 2nd July and 6th July. As reported by news agency ANI, Partha Chatterjee said that education ministry has taken all the measures while deciding the action plan for conducting the pending board exams. In order to maintain to maintain the norms of social distancing, the education ministry has selected about 2500 exam centres. Each exam centre will have only 80-100 students. West Bengal has two different boards - West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) for class 9 and 10; and West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) for Class 11 and 12. The West Bengal Board examinations for various class including class 12 were postponed until April 15, 2020, due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the state. In a notice issued last week, WBCHSE announced to cancel exams for call 11 students and rather promoting all the students to class 12 for the next academic year. The decision was made as per the declaration of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and instructions given by the Minister of Education Partha Chatterjee . For class 12, the state education ministry had decided to conduct West Bengal Board Class 12 or HS Examinations sometime in June, however, the complete schedule of the remaining examinations was kept on halt till the lockdown is lifted. As far as exams for Class 10 are concerned, the West Bengal Madhyamik Examinations (Class - 10 Exams) were conducted by WBBSE before the lockdown was enforced. The exams had concluded earlier and the exam paper evaluation is underway.
