NEET Results: Lucknow Girl Moves HC As NTA Withholds Result Due To Torn OMR Sheet

Ayushi, who expected a score of 715 out of 720 based on her answer key verification, was taken aback to find out that the NTA had not released her result.

After the declaration of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results on June 4, many students, parents, and teachers have raised questions about inflated cut-offs and errors in the results. While thousands of students are celebrating their success, many feel cheated.  One such student is Aayushi Patel from Lucknow. The NTA did not release Aayushi's result, but after calculating from the answer key, she found that she had scored 715 out of 720. Aayushi has taken her case to the Lucknow High Court for justice.

Aayushi has raised questions on the NTA's examination system by filing a petition in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. Like others, Aayushi Patel also appeared for the NEET exam this time. However, when the results were announced on June 4, the NTA refused to release Aayushi's result, stating that her OMR sheet was torn.

Aayushi does not know how her OMR sheet got torn. Aayushi's dreams were shattered. She was devastated, as the answer key indicated she had only one wrong answer. This time, she was sure of securing a seat in a government college for MBBS, but the NTA's refusal to release her result crushed her aspirations.

Talking to ABP Live, Aayushi said, "My uncle is an advocate at the High Court's Lucknow Bench. Upon contacting him, three legal notices and seven emails were sent to the NTA on June 4, requesting my OMR sheet via email. Twenty-four hours later, the OMR sheet sent by the NTA shocked me and my entire family. The OMR sheet was torn, but the bubbles I filled were visible."

Aayushi's mother said, "She wouldn't even eat a full meal when she came home because she feared it would make her fall asleep at night. My daughter deserves to be rewarded for her hard work and honest efforts."

Aayushi is urging the NTA to release her result and has requested the court to suspend the ongoing process of NEET results until a decision is made by the High Court regarding her OMR sheet.

Aayushi's father, Santosh Patel, runs a small medical store in Alambagh, and her mother, Shashi Patel, is a homemaker.

NTA Denies Discrepancy In OMR Sheets

National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that no torn OMR sheet was sent through an official ID. “Regarding the viral video featuring Ms. Ayushi Patel, claiming discrepancies in NEET (UG) 2024 scoring and receiving of the torn OMR answer sheet, NTA clarifies that no torn OMR answer sheet was sent via an official NTA ID. The OMR answer sheet is intact and scores are accurate as per official records. Candidate should download scorecards only from the website,” NTA said.
