Rajasthan Schools Holidays: Schools In Jaipur To Remain Closed Till January 14 Due To Cold Wave

Due to the ongoing cold wave, schools in Jaipur will be remained closed till January 14, 2023.

In the view of cold wave in the state,  the District Collector of Jaipur issued an order to extend the winter vacations in the government schools of the city. The schools for classes 1 to 8 will remained closed till January 14.

As per an order issued previously, Schools in Jaipur had been ordered to remain closed till January 7, 2023, due to the ongoing cold wave in North India. However, today a fresh notification has been issued by the administration to extend the closure of schools till January 14, 2023.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense and very dense fog is predicted in some areas of Rajasthan over the next 24 hours. Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions is also expected in a few regions of the state, as per the MET Department.
The severe fog continued to prevail in Northern Rajasthan's Sikar resulting in reduced visibility.

Meanwhile, Schools were closed in a few districts of Madhya Pradesh on Friday as the intense cold spell continued across the state, officials said. The lowest temperature was recorded at 0.2 degree Celsius in Nowgong town of Chhatarpur district in the morning, said H S Pandey, a senior official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) office here.

IMD has also issued a warning regarding a drop in temperatures across North India. Delhi NCR region, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness extreme cold weather in the coming few days.
