Recently, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition by students seeking postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE). The government later clarified that there will be no further delay in the exams which are scheduled to begin in September. Similarly, students have also filed pleas against the UGC guidelines issued on July 6 which made it mandatory for Universities to conduct final year exams by September 30. The court is yet to provide a final verdict. While academic bodies and testing agencies that are responsible for conducting the exams have maintained that all safety measures will be adhered at the exams centres, there have been reports of students becoming Covid 19 positive after appearing for exams such as two students in Karnataka who were found coronavirus positive after giving his SSLC or class 10 Board exams in June. Last month, two students from Kerala who had appeared for an entrance exams also became coronavirus positive.69,000 COVID Cases added in last 24-Hours! Situation is more alarming than ever!
