The National Institute of Design (NID) will close the regular registrations for the NID DAT (Design Aptitude Test) 2024 today, December 5, 2023. Interested and eligible candidates who wish to apply for NID Admissions 2024, and are yet to submit their registration cum application forms for the same are advised to do so on the official website - admissions.nid.edu, at the earliest. Candidates can submit their NID DAT 2024 Applications without late fee by 04:00 pm today. Candidates will be able to submit their NID DAT 2024 Applications with late fee from 04:00 pm, December 5, to 04:00 pm, December 7, 2023. 

NID DAT 2024 Application Fee

Candidates may note that the NID B.Des and M.Des application form 2024 is Rs 3,000 for General, General-EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates. However, for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the application fee is Rs 1,500. The late fee for General, General-EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates is Rs 1,500, while that for SC, ST, and PwD candidates is Rs 750. 

Candidates may further note that those applying for M.Des programmes at the NID can also apply for two programmes of their choice. In such cases, General, General-EWS, and OBC-NCL candidates will be required to pay an application fee of Rs 6000, and SC, ST, and PwD candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3000. 

What Is The NID DAT Exam? 

Notably, the National Institute of Design (NID) conducts the NID DAT (Design Aptitude Test) every year for admissions into its B.Des and M.Des courses. The Design Aptitude Test is a two stage selection process where candidates first need to undergo the DAT Prelims Test, and those who qualify in the prelims test move forward to the next DAT Mains Test. The DAT Mains basically comprises a Studio Test. However, candidates seeking admissions into NID’s M.Des course also need to appear for the personal interview round. 

NID DAT 2024 Dates

As per the official schedule, the NID will conduct the NID DAT Prelims Exam 2024 on December 24, 2023. While the DAT Mains Exam 2024 for B.Des course will be held on April 27, and 28, 2024, the DAT Mains Exam for M.Des will be held between March 3 to April 6, 2024. 

The NID DAT Prelims Result 2024 for B.Des is scheduled to be released on March 28, 2024, while the prelims result for M.Des is slated to be released on February 16, 2024. The DAT Mains Result for Masters programmes will be announced on April 21, while the DAT Mains Result for Bachelors programmes will be released on May 21, 2024.
