NEET Row: CBI Takes All 13 Accused Into Custody In NEET Paper Leak Case

NEET UG Paper Leak Case: The CBI will now confront the 13 accused with Rakesh Ranjan, alias Rocky who is also in CBI custody.

NEET UG Paper Leak Case: In a significant development in the NEET UG paper leak case, the CBI has taken all 13 accused into custody from jail. Following a thorough review of the case, the Patna High Court ordered their transfer to CBI custody. With the accused now in custody, the CBI will interrogate them and confront them with one of the main suspects, Rakesh Ranjan, also known as Rocky, who is already in CBI custody.

The 13 individuals sent to CBI custody include Nitish Kumar, Akhilesh Kumar, Sikandar Prasad Yadvendu, Ayush Kumar, Bittu Kumar, Amit Anand, Ashutosh Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Anurag Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Awdesh Kumar, Shivnandan Kumar, and Reena Kumari. Several other suspects are already in CBI custody, including the principal of Hazaribagh Oasis School, Ahsanul Haque, and the vice principal, Imtiaz Alam. A Hindi newspaper journalist, Jamaluddin, who allegedly helped them on the day of the exam, is also in custody. Additionally, the CBI has taken Aman Singh into custody, who was arrested in Dhanbad.

The Delhi court on Friday granted bail to one Gangadhar Gunde for being 'wrongly' arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the NEET paper leak case linked to Maharashtra’s Latur. Granting bail to Gunde, the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi said he was arrested in place of another man with the same name, who is accused of being in touch with persons allegedly involved in case

Gunde was arrested by the CBI in Dehradun on June 26, 2024 and stayed in police custody until June 30, 2024. After that, he was in judicial custody for 12 days. A resident of Gurugram, he was intercepted while on his way to Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. The CBI on Thursday arrested the alleged kingpins in the NEET UG 'paper leak' case who was on the run ever since the crackdown on irregularities in the exam began. Earlier this week, the CBI searched 15 locations in Bihar and Jharkhand, collecting strong evidence in the case.
